Better watch out. Better not pout. Better not cry, and I'll tell you why.
Buffy Summers is coming to town in EA's third-person action game, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

If there's any realized version of living hell, it has to be the life of the 17-year-old Buffy Summers. Not only does this girl have to dress chic, keep a boyfriend and maintain her grades, but she also has to keep the world from being overrun by a snarly pack of vampires. No one would wish her traumatic lifestyle on their most wretched foes, unless it's in the form of EA's upcoming Xbox game, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
The third-person action and adventure title will have players step into the teen slayer's glamorous shoes to fight ancient demons who are trying to take over by creating a bridge between Hell and earth. If they succeed, a grand army of demons will turn the world into a devil's playground.
Buffy will be armed with her special Slayer Powers, which will help her explore, solve puzzles and fight enemies. Depending on her experience level and power, she'll be able to use a combination of martial arts, gymnastics, superjumps, quick healing and her slayer sense while fighting vampires, demons, zombies and other fiendish creatures. EA's game boasts a serious piece of eye candy, which will feature creepy special effects, such as dynamic fogging, morphing creatures and arcane spellcasting.
Buffy the game will feature familiar faces and places from Buffy the TV show. EA promises richly detailed replications of Sunnydale High, The Bronze Nightclub, Angel, The Master, Spike, Willow and Giles, to name a few.
From what we've seen so far, Buffy looks to be a promising addition to the current Xbox repertoire, and (unless you count Dark Summit) it's one of the Microsoft console's first games to feature a strong, intelligent female protagonist. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is set to hit the shelves in March 2002.
