Get Ready for the Rise of the DVD DJs!
For people who turn their noses up at the thought of DJs spinning CDs instead of vinyl, you might want to stop reading right now. Pioneer has a new product that just might be the end of traditional DJing as we know it (ok, we’re exaggerating).
The DVJ-X1 is a DVD turntable, that, besides playing CDs like the classic CDJ-1000, also has video outputs and lets you mix and scratch DVDs. Should be available in the Spring, for upwards of $3K.
Wait ‘til you see our hot new Sex and the City/Curb Your Enthusiasm remix.

EA/Marvel Comics Team Up for Games
Marvel Comics, which has been doing so well lately with its Spider-Man/X-Men/Hulk movies, is going to take another shot at gaming. EA is set to produce a new fighting franchise featuring the Marvel gang. Hopfully it'll be less of a snoozer than previous games like X-Men: Next Dimension and the 2D Marvel vs. Capcom series (Sorry 2D fight fans..it's a genre we just never "got").

Most-Searched Boob Ever
Yawn...did we really need to know that Janet Jackson's breast has become the most searched-for image ever? At least it's not Paris Hilton.
From the BBC: "On Monday, Janet Jackson and the half-time show received 60 times as many searches as the Paris Hilton sex tape and 80 times as many searches as Britney Spears," said Aaron Schatz, who compiles a daily list of top search phrases for Lycos.

GameGal in the New York Times!
Just a quick note to tell you that everyone's favorite women n' technology site was featured in the New York Times last week. We've been in tons of other papers and magazines, but it's always nice to make it into the hometown paper.
It was in the Circuits section on Thursday, Feb 5th. Noah Shachtman interviewed Libe about a new gaming peripheral. You can read the whole article at the links below, but here's the highlight:
Whatever the device's fitness merits, Libe Goad, the editor of GameGal.com, an online magazine, doubts the kiloWatt will sell well. "As cool as it is, I'd be extremely surprised if a high-priced, gimmicky peripheral like the kiloWatt would ever become anything more than a novelty among the gaming set," she said by e-mail.

Watch Out for SpyBan
Whole big conversation on Slashdot about a spyware removal program called SpyBan that actually adds its own spyware to your system! Wow...that's pretty low. Trust us, stick with Spybot S&D and AdAware.

Gamers Phone Home
News.com has a groovy story on how gamers with their headsets over Xbox Live (as well as PC and PS2 games) are the proof-of-concept for VoIP (that's when we'll all be making our phonecalls over the internet).
