Galaxies Re-examined

Our pals over at GameSpy have a great long-form feature about the phenomena that is Star Wars Galaxies. Single-handedly responsible for bringing in tons of people who would have never played a massively multiplayer online game, SWG effectively mainstreamed the genre, even while fighting off more technical problems than you can shake a lightsaber at.

Current estimates put the number of subscribers at anywhere from 100,000-200,000 or more, making it the #2 MMO game of all time.
