Mind “Yourself” Business
Sorry in advance for the pun-tastic headline. But the story behind it is about the new Xbox title Yourself Fitness, which we’ve been looking forward to for a long time. It’s a women-targeted virtual trainer that, among other things, leads you through a comprehensive yoga workout.
In an odd twist, the game is getting some media attention, but not because of its novel concept. Academy-award-winning screenwriter Roger Avery (Pulp Fiction) is suing Microsoft and the game’s developer responDESIGN. He claims to have pitched the same idea to Microsoft in 2002 but couldn’t come to a financial arrangement with them to develop the property. Later on, he says he was shocked to find Microsoft touting a new Xbox game that was seemingly inspired by his original proposal.
Of course, both Microsoft and the developer deny any wrongdoing. We’ll let you sort out the facts in the links below. In the meantime, we’ve got Yourself Fitness in the to-play pile here at GameGal World Headquarters, so stay tuned for our review.
