Big News: Games Make Mad Loot

It’s kind of old news already, but the San Francisco Chronicle just ran a really decent article on the current state of the games business. Typical “bigger than Hollywood” vibe, with the wide-eyed admission that gamers are trending older, into their late 20s and early 30s.

A good number to throw around at cocktail parties is that Halo 2 made more money in a single day than the biggest Hollywood release opening weekend ever ($125 million for Halo 2 vs. $114 million for Spiderman).
