Resident Evil 4.5
Yeah, Resident Evil 4 rocks, but the final product is pretty different than the early gameplay footage we saw at E3 in 2003. The original sneak peeks we got were much more traditional RE style, with Leon crawling around a big creepy mansion.
IGN has put together a collection of those screenshots and demo clips – check ‘em out!

PSP Problems Mount
When Sony’s hot new PSP handheld was released in Japan, people snatched up units as quickly as possible. Like all new hardware, these first-gen PSPs had their share of problems – dead screen, stuck pixels, etc., but one problem seems to be persistent.
Apparently the “square” button (no, it’s round like the others, it’s just he one with a square on it – like on your PS2 controller) has a tendency to either get stuck or be less responsive than the other buttons. Thos in the know say it’s because there’s so little room in the PSP’s case, and the trigger for that button is slightly off-center.
Gamespot reports that Sony Computer Entertainment president Ken Kutaragi told a Japanese business magazine, “This is the design that we came up with. There may be people that complain about its usability, but that's something which users and game software developers will have to adapt to.”
Uh…can you say cop-out?

Scorned Lover Gets Revenge on MMO Character
Well, it had to happen sometime. People hook up occasionally while playing MMO games (see, we’re not the only “real” girl out there), and sometimes, those out-of-game relationships don’t work out.
A Japanese woman apparently met her boyfriend in the popular MMO Lineage, but when they broke up, she logged into his account and deleted all his fancy in-game items. He, of course, promptly called the real-life cops, who said that while you can’t really steal virtual game goods, logging in to someone else’s online account is indeed illegal, so an investigation is pending.

The Soul Still Burns
And why shouldn’t it? After all, Soul Calibur is clearly the greatest fighting game series of all time (don’t even try to argue with us on that one). Now, the rumor monkeys are saying that Soul Calibur 3 might be out, in Europe at least, in October of 2005.
Maybe this time we’ll find a way to get around Kilik and his irritating stick…

GameGal CES Picks!
The GameGal team has recently returned from Las Vegas, where we were on a top-secret mission to check out the latest tech gadgets for 2005. Ok, it wasn’t really all that top secret, as everyone from CNN to Maxim magazine was there, too.
The annual Consumer Electronics Show showcases the newest unreleased gear, from giant LCD televisions to $100,000 stereo systems. In between sucking down copious amounts of free drinks and giant shrimp, we managed to get a peek at some of the high-end goodies you’ll be salivating over later in the year.

Rupert Murdoch Getting into Gaming
Fox honcho Rupert Murdoch is reportedly considering buying a major game publisher as a way of getting into the games market. Big players like Activision and Electronic Arts are being looked at, according to the COO of News Corporation.
You can insert your own Bill O’Reilly game joke at any point, but it’s just too obvious, so we won’t.

Viva Las Vegas
Well, here we are, live from the CES show in Las Vegas. For those not in the know, CES is the Consumer Electronics Show, a trade show all about gadgets and technology.
That's pretty cool just by itself, but having it in Las Vegas is pretty sweet, too. Stay tuned for hot updates on hot gadgets, or at least hot parties and/or hot streaks at the blackjack tables.
