Pretty Old Scrolls

oblivion.jpgThey're so old, in fact, they're Elder Scrolls! Ok, normally we wouldn't get all worked up over a sword and sorcery game - we're not exactly regulars at the local Dungeons and Dragons meet-up and we don't wear one of those "I Roll 20’s" t-shirts. But, a few years ago, we got totally taken in by a game called Morrowind (or Elder Scrolls III) and it was the most ambitious game we'd ever played.

With hundreds of NPCs and dozens of quests over an area bigger than some New England states, Morrowind was truly a go anywhere, do anything game. Kind of like a single-player version of a MMO game.

The inevitable sequel is finally here, and it's called Oblivion: Elder Scrolls 4. It’s set in a different country than Morrowind, but the free-roaming gameplay and huge scope are still intact. We are, naturally, very excited, and you will be, too, once you read this excellent preview from Console Gold.
