GameGal's Real Girl Gift Guide 2005
With every magazine and website under the sun putting together a Holiday Gift Guide for their audience, we thought we'd take a slightly different look at the whole gift guide thing.
Instead of putting products into categories for imaginary stereotypes, we asked some of our favorite real-life girl gamers for their holiday gift picks. Behold, the very first ever Real-Girl Gift Guide!

Stubbs the Zombie (Xbox, PC)
Retro brain-munching action!
The Movies (PC)
Make your own flicks with this tinsletown sim.
City of Villains (PC)
Crime does pay in this super-powered online multiplayer sequel.
We Love Katamari (PS2)
And we also love rolling up things in our giant sticky ball.
Nintendogs (DS)
Better than the real thing – and less clean-up.

Stubbs the Zombie (Xbox, PC)
After so many years of killing zombies, it’s time to experience the other side. And eating brains doesn’t sound too bad either…
Guitar Hero (PS2)
The funkier the controller, the better. Plus, where else can I practice my face-melting metal guitar solos?
F.E.A.R. (PC)
Horror just isn’t complete without big guns, random skeletons being violently thrown about and creepy little supernatural girls. So money.
Condemned: Criminal Origins (Xbox 360)
Gorgeous graphics, crazy suspense and melee attacks all around. Beating down deranged homeless types has never been so sweet.
Mario Kart DS
First off, your own screen in battle mode? Thank you. The ‘Kart’ is back in a beautiful way -- old courses, new attacks and WiFi that makes me drool.

Dear Satan, I mean Santa,
My Christmas wishes are dark and spooky, because, after all, every day is Halloween.
Santa, bring me Resident Evil 4 and The Suffering: Ties That Bind for the PlayStation 2. Please, Santa, I promise I will fight those zombies good! And if you're feeling generous and you're not constrained by Sarbanes-Oxley laws (as is Steve Ballmer), please hook me up with an Xbox 360 (and not that crummy core system!) so I can pretend to be Clarisse Starling in Condemned: Criminal Origins, and eat brains in Stubbs the Zombie (thanks to the magic of backwards compatibility) and eventually drool over Cliver Barker's Demonik.
I promise to leave you lots of spooky treats under my Chanukkah tree!
Jenni
